20' of snow..sheesh...those a-arms are TRASHED!

do you know how they finally got it out? winches i presume, and several of them..

with this kind of offroading, do lift kits really help much? jack the truck up 10' in the air..with some nice baloon tires..(no...not bigfoot style)..of course...trees maybe an issue.

That's it....fine line between big enough and too big. The trail is usually narrow.


20 years ago when I started Wheeling...Willys Jeeps and CJ-5's were the dominate wheeler. Most rigs had 31" tires...Armstrong Tru-Traks were the most popular.

Now, it's the Toyota pick up trucks with 38" tires or custom rock crawlers with Model 60's front and rear.

I'm old school....with my '47 Willys...32" tires. I need to KNOW where my differential cover is and my spring shackles.

I don't know much about jeeps, but for a '47, damn...that things still kickin around..i do remember, as u say, about 20 years ago people talking about the cj5's and cj6's saying they were the badass jeep at the time.

that looks awesome too!

i've always debated on a rail/sand buggy project. but that looks like it's a whole lot more fun.

Sand Rails are fun. You just have to have cool dunes to make it fun. Pismo Beach, in Southern California is a huge sand dune area.


It's kinda weird to think my Jeep is coming up on 60 years old. It's basically just the frame and body. The engine is a 1975 Buick V-6, the front end is out of a 1979 CJ-7...the rear...no clue. Saginaw 4-speed from a Corvette that lost a battle with a tree, 1980 Chevy Monza steering column, Saginaw power steering box..no clue what from.....

Oh...the Transfer case is original....but I have replaced some gears.
