I know I've been really bad about checking the board since most everyone is on Facebook. So what's everyone doing. Any riding going on?

I've been wanting to go ride but have been so busy with other stuff. Ken was telling me he bought a new drone. He wants to try to film while riding.

I'm surprised that took so long! I think it's a cool idea.

Cool! I hinted that I wanted one for my birthday, but ended up getting a shooting table. But hey, it's all good, if anyone tries to fly a drone over my place I'll be able to shoot it down much easier. :P

Yeah, so what is everyone doing? Seasonal closures for most trails and roads ended yesterday. While it was snowing here. Go figure...

Went up to Bear Valley OHV Loop (one of GG's favorites) on Sunday. Ken/Emilie, Will and myself/Nick headed up early. We parked at Little Truckee Summit and cruised up Cottonwood Rd to the trail. I think that should be renamed though, to Baby Poop Mud Rd. The last 1/2 mile or so before the trailhead was absolutely ridiculous. We were throwing baseball size hunks of mud off the tires.

Once we got off that road and hit the trail, it was all good. There was one spot on the trail, where you go down a hill and cross a meadow like area where we were tossing basketball sized chunks off the tires. That was only a few hundred yards at the most though. The rest of the trail was in pretty good shape. We did drag one tree off the trail to avoid a bypass situation. By the afternoon, Cottonwood had gotten much better and actually had some pretty good traction considering how bad it was earlier in the morning.

The trail still needs some maintenance and a few more markers, we got turned around a couple of times. It was a good trip and I think Will has been converted to a SxS guy now.......

Bummer for me, I had thought of going up to LTS last weekend but we had to go to the Bay Area on Sunday. Would have been fun to run into you guys there. Several years ago I went up there and found GrizzlyGuy in the LTS parking lot, so he showed me some of that area - I had not ridden there before (we did Bear Valley on a later trip). Fun riding!

I would guess the mud comes from the warm winter - rain instead of snow!

Indeed I am now a SxS guy. That dam RZR is so much fun! I don't know what took me so long to buy one. Oh yeah, the price tag (and that 'little lady' obstacle). All good now tho

Bear Valley OHV never gets old! There's something for everyone on that one, with bypasses around the tougher obstacles if that thang ain't yo' thing. The last time I was on Cottonwood Road it looked like someone had dragged a travel trailer down it while it was seriously wet. 6" deep ruts for most of the length. Sounds like it's worse now.

Oh crap, we lost another one to SxS's. Oh well, Will was on a 2-wheeler so it's all good! :)
