Ham Class on Aug 25

Postby Ken » Mon Aug 05, 2013 8:40 am

If you don't have your ham license...GET IT. Super valuable, especially around here while riding.

The Rubicon Rockheads, in conjuction with CBMR, are offering HAM Radio license exam session at CBMR.
Date: Sunday, August 25th
Time: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Location: Location | Crystal Basin Mountain Resort
Cost: $15.00

Please email me or Steven so we can plan accordingly.
Participants will be provided with free camping Saturday night by checking in with Don at resort.

This exam session is intended to provide an opportunity for mountain users to obtain entry level Technician Class license, but current HAM operators are welcome to attend for upgrade purposes. The Volunteer Examiners conducting the tests will also be available to answer questions about radios and radio use in the area.

Two forms of identification are required. Calculators are allowed, but memory must be cleared at check-in. Cell phones and PDAs may not be used as calculators. There are no age restrictions.

Information resources for Technician Class below. QRZ practice tests are very popular/effective and Gordon West's book covers all the theory, history and regulations needed to pass the exam.
