This probably belongs in a different category, but it's a short-fuse discount - through Tuesday (April 30).

Save an extra 10-15% on Yuasa parts at Checkout. Offer valid through April 30, 2013 on products sold and shipped directly by Amazon.com. See full details and discounts on more top powersports brands.

This came at the right time - my 2007 Grizzly's battery is gone, so $79 for a Yuasa AGM is not bad at all I think.

PS - A few things I learned:

1) In this case, these batteries are shipped "dry"; you need to add the acid (easy with included pre-measured dispenser) and you MUST charge them at no more than 2 amps using a smart charger to finish the initial charge before you use it.

2) As dry, their shelf life is years. Once filled with acid, the counter starts on battery life. So if you get something that's filled and ready to go, how long it's been on their shelf "wet" matters. Good shops will only activate enough batteries to keep their stock rotating.

3) Filling a battery will result in a charge, but not doing the finishing charge will result in the battery not being able to accept a full charge as it was designed to do.

I'm an info-holic, the internet is a bad thing for me... :-) I'm on my 4th week of studying subwoofers to replace the one that fried on me.

Subwoofer for home stereo??

I have a Velodyne SPL Series 1500....very stout. Women hate it. :)

Yep. Toasted amp board in my old BIC. Learned too much about what causes boominess in the cheaper subs, and now I'm in your range...

A quote on the board over at Audioholics: "the wife said, you're going to pay that for ONE speaker?"

I have my Grizzlies down at Roseville Yamaha getting, among other things, new batteries. The service manager said he'd setup and charge the batteries himself because there is one step that (according to him) is critical to getting long life: when you pour in the acid, you need to leave it uncapped for 30-45 minutes to let the gasses out, then seal it up. He claimed it will make a battery last 5-7 years vs. just 3-4 years.

I don't know if it is true, my batteries are now 6 years old and I think that keeping them on a trickle charger whenever I wasn't riding is what kept them in good shape. I actually think I could have gone another year, maybe two, but didn't want to risk it.

That's what I read also - and it's what I did. Apparently since they arrive dry w/12 volts measureable on them (and they will start the bike), some people think you just add the acid and go. Or they don't have a smart charger and don't bother.

I definitely agree with you that keeping them charged contributes to their lifespan. I am adding a PowerPole pigtail to each for jumping/charging.
