Horses on the trails

This article illustrates why I stop well short of any horses and riders I see on the roads or trails. I also shut off the motor and usually take my helmet off. You can't be too careful - some horses are fine with machinery, some don't know what you are with a helmet on. And this incident was just with a mountain bike.

That is SO TRUE.

Kendo and I ran into two horse riders in the Highlands outside of Reno.....and on our July 7 ride, I came up on that guy and wife on the horses....I didn't see her...but I saw him...and slowed to crawl....I turned off the motor..and asked him what he wanted me to do, because her horse was jittery....he said don't move. So I didn't. He settled down.

I have GREAT respect for someone sitting on top of a 2000lbs animal....

having mountain biked for 12 years and ridden horses on the trail a few times you guys are doing everything right.
always ask the horse rider what they want you to do.
that sucks bad, and sounds like it was a fairly "normal" horse type fall just a really bad landing.
