More? snow?

Postby hemingray » Fri Mar 18, 2011 8:25 pm

Gad - NWS says snow level 3500 feet but it turned to snow at 2:30 PM and we got 4 inches at 2200 feet by 6 PM. Plowed the road 5 times. GrizzlyGuy probably won't see his den opened until August.

As a local, you should know how to get all the way to Crystal Springs without getting on I-80!

Hope you made it OK!

That's possible. The top of the grizzly den roof is now just a bump in the snow. This is the most snow we've had since I've lived here, and getting our peak depth this late means the riding season will start real late. More is on the way!

Oh well, this should be a flippin' great spring ski season. I'm going to get a spring pass for Squaw Valley because they stay open the latest. I could be skiing in July!

Made it fine....

coming home....Stayed Cal Neva....neat hotel...tons of cool history...we went on the ghost tour....totally worth it...not so much for the ghost factor, but the tour of all the tunnels that Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe and the gangsters used to avoid the Feds.

Anyway...left at 7:30....Got to Truckee and was able to park across from the Shell station. Jack and I sat there...hung out...until opened...the early bird got the worm...as we sailed home...just walked in the door.

Nice on sailing home! You missed quite the windstorm last night.

I read about the hotel recently, it's on our list to check out someday.
