Snow riding, here I come!
14+ inches of fresh powder on my lawn and it looks like there's more coming. I assume you Cali guys near the Sierra's have been hit hard too. Trees/power lines and roofs are having issues with the heavy wet mess.

Yeah, about 5 feet so far. Fortunately it has been a cold storm here so it is light powder.

After all the hype, we got a mere 1 inch @ 2,000 feet on the west slope late Saturday and it just rained during the day today - the snow is all gone. What a difference 5,000 feet makes, eh GG?

Ha! Yeah, it doesn't take much elevation to make a difference. Truckee is 1200' lower than me and usually they only get about 1/2 what we get up here. That's why I like to refer to it as "Palm Springs".hemingray wrote:After all the hype, we got a mere 1 inch @ 2,000 feet on the west slope late Saturday and it just rained during the day today - the snow is all gone. Re: Snow riding, here I come!
Well over 4' of fresh powder in our mountains. By the time the snow stopped, I was probably around 16" on my lawn. Some has melted, but Mon-Wed. is forecast to bring more snow. The ski resorts are VERY happy!GrizzlyGuy wrote:Yeah, about 5 feet so far. Fortunately it has been a cold storm here so it is light powder.

Were im at here in Idaho, at my house we got about 3'' of snow here a few days ago, very light powder but the temps have been in the mid to low 20`s the last two weeks with more snow expected this week.

I'm sure our resorts are happy too - any time there is enough snow to open at Thanksgiving, it's A Good Thing.
