How to Make Quad Calif. Steet Legal

Postby avejoe » Wed Jul 28, 2010 9:28 pm

I give up. Trail restrictions have made it too difficult so I decided to make my quad California street legal.

Cool! I know the feeling as I get jealous of the dirt bikers every time they can make a cool loop or long ride by zipping down a stretch of pavement.

Yes, I did sell my quad. Keeping the quad and getting the dual sport was not an option. Actually, I could have kept the quad and bought the dual sport, but I would have lost my wife. I hope I made the right call. I mean for the most part I like my wife better than my quad. We'll see.

I am looking forward to being able to explore new trail systems that have some paved sections.

Yeah. Quad, bike, wife - pick any two. Tough choice.

I'll never give up on the quad because of the slow 4WD mountain goat climbing ability.

I'll never give up a quad....

cause I'm too old to freaking fall.

Well I have sold all my quads, jeeps and sandrail and was just down to the sled and the current rzr. So like Dave I'm tried of the crap and went street legal.
Got a 2008 husky TE510. Its a rocket.
Not my bike but exactly the same minus the fender pack.

I don't plan on getting rid of the rzr, just a new addition.

Are you surprised ?, just about everything in california is illegal. Just wait until they make you buy a license to breathe. I moved out of Kalifornia seven months ago because i was tired of all of the bullshit. I moved to Idaho, and i have my ATV registered so i can ride it to town and i can also ride it the seven miles from my house to the trails and back.I can ride on any road except the highway. I just don`t understand Kalifornia`s thinking when it comes to off road vehicles. If you out in the middle of no were and you need to ride on a paved road to get to the next trail a few miles away it shouldn`t be a big deal.

The guv'mint here has the time to mess with the little things because everything else has been outlawed. You know - offshore drilling, irrigation, those sorts of annoyances. The singular minded population centers engineer California living for virtually everyone else.

One of my favorite indicators is the "Keep Tahoe Blue" bumperstickers on the myriads of SUVs going back and forth to the Bay Area. When I lived down there, I always felt like I was in someone else's backyard coming up here to the Sierra. They act like it's their backyard - get outta their way.

Nice bike! Seems like you've got the best of both worlds with the RZR and a street-legal bike.
