Cabin Fever

Postby BruteForce » Thu Jan 14, 2010 5:21 pm

So our weather here in Utah has sucked butt-hair.

We got decent snow, so I got the ATV out a few times to bust fresh powder, but since mid-December, its all frozen solid.

Can't go riding because all the trails have been ridden and the frozen snow rutted up. Can't do much else because the smog is so bad (due to no real storms to eliminate the crap in our mountain valley).

Sitting here losing my freakin' mind while I gain 10+ pounds! :x

Edited to add: And not enough depth to the snow to pull out the sleds (Snow mobiles)! ARGH!!!!!

Well, the NWS says we are in for quite a week next week with 5-10 feet of snow possible in the Sierra. It usually comes your way afterwards, hope it does this time too!!

I guess the weather has been stale across the country, but the storm door is supposed to be opening for us in CA this Sunday.

Good luck!

Sure do. Took it out early last year on the Paiute, ran into a pack of badgers and rolled it. Only damage was to my Fosters Lager beer that detonated inside the trailer.

I can't even get that. Our inversion has been so bad, it's like a full layer of clouds have descended on the earth.

Today, we have a combination of inversion (Utah's term for heavy smog sitting between the mountains) and fog. Thick as pea-soup outside right now!

I'm hoping for either fresh snow to ride and snow shoe in, or a warm-up that melts all this crap!

So, still got your inversion? Still snowless?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Inversion is gone, snow has started to fall. Sad part is that rain is intermixing with the snow, reducing the volume on the ground.

I believe the mountains are getting hammered with 4+ feet of fresh powder though, so we're going to take the snow mobiles out this weekend and hopefully hit some deep powder! :D
