Heard this one on the scanner.

They had quite a time locating them, even with a sat phone (no coordinates). It turned out to be in the Long Point area (at the upper end of Lake Clementine). They had ridden down from Applegate. There's an old "jeep trail" (remnant of a road that once connected to Foresthill Rd.) that people hike on. Being in the Auburn Rec. area, I don't think motorized vehicles are allowed in there.

I was on that trail last spring. Yeah its closed to OHV now, but not very well marked so the Ranger let us go. Freaking greenies are taking over everything.

Why would they not just have airlifted the couple to a safe spot for the ambulance, doesn't make sense to put more people in danger.

That road isn't that bad. The rangers drive a full size dodge ram pickup on it.

This looks like a case of driver error from start to finish but the greenies will say ATV ban would solve this problem and quite wasting tax payers dollars for rescues.

Oh thats what the 'greenies' means, lol. I've been trying to figure what that meant. Tree huggers.
