Starter problem

Hi Guys
The starter broke down on my SP800 and the dealer here in Iceland told me that they don't sell any repair parts and Polaris do not make it. I find it stanges that you have to buy a new starter and you can't fix the other one.
Can you buy a repair kit in the US or are they telling me true???

Depends on what's wrong with it. I know for Hondas, you can buy replacement brushes for their starters. Not sure about the PoPo's tho. Have you diagnosed what the problem with the starter is exactly?

Is it the starter or the solenoid?

My solenoid started going out and I have to tap it occasionally... I bought a replacement but have yet to use it.

Check out http://bikebandit.com under OEM parts for the diagram and part lists. Looks like only the starter motor and bendix are sold seperately....$333 and $275....Damn!

Yes Damn. And if you want to send it to Iceland than it will double in prize because our money the "kr" is in all time low.
Example in 2008 1 us$=70kr
2009 1 us$=130kr
