As far as I know, the trail out of Cisco Grove is Fordyce Trail. I don't think there are any spurs before it... it's just 11 miles of pure hell, then Meadow Lake. ;)

Actually the road out of Cisco Grove is called Fordyce Lake or Rattlesnake Rd and it goes to Fordyce Lake. From Eagle Lakes you catch the Fordyce Trail to Meadow Lake.

Mike, are you staying at the campground there? There is only 1 way to go from there and that road takes you back to Fordyce and Sterling Lakes. If you stay left at all of the major turns you go right to Fordyce. I have a track that goes from the campground, to the lake, down through the Committee Crossing, the lower half of the Fordyce Trail, and back over Red Mtn/Signal Peak that I can convert to .gpx for you.

Flyin Boy and I were just riding in that area on Friday. I've got plenty of track logs and can E-mail you a GPX file if you want it. Trails that you can't miss:

1) The switchback trail heading up to Signal Peak. It takes off from Rattlesnake road, but you can easily miss it since there is no sign. The beginning of the trail is here:

39.32489 N
120.53918 W

This one is steep and rough in spots so I'd avoid it if on a sports quad.

2) The trail that heads westward past Mossy Pond, toward the east side of Fordyce Lake (but dead-ends before the lake). The trail starts from here:

39.37499 N
120.45263 W

It is the red line shown here:

Lots of granite along the trail. Here are some pictures from Friday, go to page 3 of my gallery and look at the last 11 pictures:

The trail is a little rough, but not bad at all. The highest granite ledge is maybe only 2 feet high.
