I was sitting in on an OHV webinar this am and the term "Thrill Craft" came up. I'd never heard it before and the speaker mentioned some details about it. Pretty disturbing website here, made me feel so dirty

That extremist mentality really makes me mad. Here is a quote from their 'Myths' page:
"the operation of a single snowmobile put as much pollution in an hour as a car ... that has been driven 100,000 miles".

You would have to be an idiot to believe such an outrageous claim.
Now I know 2-stroke motors put out higher emissions, but I would sure like to see someone disqualify that claim with some actual statistics.

So if this is true,

"Many owners of thrillcraft enjoy challenging themselves by “attacking” the land or water, seeking out steep slopes or rough pathways through the woods".

My snow skis and snow board would be a un-motorized thrillcraft when I go thrashing though the trees looking for virgin powder out of bounds .
These guys suck!!!!!!!!!

Isn't biological diversity a bit of a misnomer? It sounds like they would like to widen things, to become more diverse. Isn't that contrary to conserving things the way they are?

Anyway, it looks less like a cause and more like a way to sell books. Using cool new terms like thrillcraft and ORV is just a ploy to make the same old greenie crap sound like something new under the sun and sell some dude's conspiracy theory of YamSuzPolsaki's plot to ruin the world.

Who buys those books? Only people in "the club"...

ATVs are also a major factor in the spread noxious and invasive weeds. Based on research by the Montana State University Extension Service, a single dirt bike or ATV can spread 2,000 seeds over a 10-mile radius.

Then we need to ban the wind and shoot all the birds.

"Snowmobiles do less damage than other machines

A common misconception is that snowmobiles are somehow more benign than other ORVs. For instance, though ATVs are banned in Yellowstone NP and other public lands, snowmobiles are permitted based on the presumption that oversnow travel prevents damage. However, snowmobiles like their other thrillcraft counterparts leak fuel and oil, along with heavy metals into the snow that is subsequently are released as a big surge of toxic compounds when snow melts that can negatively affect aquatic life and creatures like amphibians that have water porous skins. Snowmobiles also cause tremendous noise pollution. One can hear a snowmobile up to several miles on either side of the travel corridor disturbing the winter silence for miles. Snowmobiles stress wildlife in winter at a time when their energy reserves are lowest. The packed trails also provide a convenience corridor for some wildlife altering habitat use patterns. For instance, coyotes can travel on the hard packed snowmobile tracks and prey upon everything from spruce grouse to snowshoe hare negatively affecting other wildlife like lynx that may depend on the hare for food."
Boy I never new HEAVY METALS were falling from my machine.

You guys don't know how good you have it just being 100 miles from here. I'm in the belly of the liberal beast, Obama-koolaide heaven, the Frisco bay area.

That site is by the Foundation for Deep Ecology, based in Sausalito. The only good thing is these guys are probably so baked that they can't get there faces out of thier bongs long enough to actually DO something other than make websites (and prob run pay porn sites from their closet servers)....but that is still bad enough.

Another whacked site is the Santa Cruz Weapons Inspection Team
http://www.scwit.org/

Here they are outside the main gate at Lockheeds Trident missile engineering plant in the Sant Cruz mountains...the Lockheed fire you've probably seen on the news was near here.

puff puff give...puff puff give...
