Don't feel bad Dennis....I first looked at it...Whatever? How rude of Mr. Bill, who is a super nice dude.....then I remembered the new member named "WHATEVER".

A lot of thought process went into that. :)

New memeber checking in

Postby oldtrucks » Sun Oct 16, 2005 1:38 pm

Hi all, I just signed in and really enjoy the site. As Dennis mentioned lots of local information and details. I live in Grass Valley and have been riding the Northern Sierras for years. I just popped for a new Suzuki and so far have been very pleased with it. Went up and ran Fordyce to the first crossing, water was a little deep and still moving a bit quick for us. We're going to try again in a couple weeks and hope the rains stay away.

Awesome. You can check Dreamflows to find the levels in advance...about 125 is MAX for a quad to cross.

Welcome.

And let us know when you're going back to the Fordyce...maybe some of us can go.

Thanks Ken. I called a friend at PG&E before we left. He'd flown into Fordyce a week earlier and said the flows were down but didn't have any idea what the actual flow was. Dreamflows has current CFM at 300 through Oct 23, just a tad over 125. We were able to get about 1/2 way across before the current started pushing the front end sideways.

If it was 300....there's no way you were getting across....

Also...you have to make a "C" to cross.....

Home made, floor boards. At work we have a 200+' by 800+' shop full of metal working tools, 3-10' and up shears, 3 breaks, 7 iron workers, 4 rolls, hand break, 8x20' plasma table, 100 + welders, so its no big deal to make my own stuff, but I still made them at my house.
