Axial rock crawler
Hi Guys
so i was at calrocs at donner ski ranch and saw the RC rock crawlers and they looked pretty cool i got to play with one for like 5 min. and liked it a lot.
First question
does anyone have a local track/ course in their backyard?
Second
before i go out and buy one could i try yours to see if i really like it?
Third
how much do they really cost?
at donner Axial said a nice entry level kit with everything is $325.
will this actually last or am i going to break it really fast??
thanks guys

The crawlers are awesome. Parts are cheep and every where. There very addicting. You can see them in MM4 also. Or type it in youtube and there's millions of videos. Just use a search engine and it will open you to a whole new world.

I bought the entry level RTR AX10 (what the guy was talking about) and have since put another $200 or so into it, and I have'nt even done the radio and controller yet. It's not super cheap, but compared to our other hobbies, not too bad either. LOL
The new RTR is much better than the older one I have. Worth a go.
You're BEST OFF getting some information and learn them... be a little patient and check craigslist and Pirate for one that someone has dumped a grand into and selling for $400 to $500.

axial just came out with a new crawler. The old scorpion was called the RTR. its a piece of junk, dont waste your money. The ARTR (orange) is the best one, but you have to buy the electronics. The KIT is also good, but you have to put it together and buy electronics. The new one is the RTC (ready to crawl). Its good and comes with everything you need for around $300. It has the same body as the ARTR, only green. For $404, CKRC out of Reno will build you an ARTR with all electronics needed.

so when you say good. how durable is the ARTR? i don't want to buy one then have to upgrade everything just to keep it going!

The orange ARTR (almost ready to run) has good parts. You choose the servo, motor, esc, etc, so however much you want to spend depends on the parts. The new RTC (ready to crawl) also has good parts and comes with everything in the box. IMO, the steering servo is the weak link, but if not abused will last a while. The kit comes as a bunch of parts in a box that you have to put together and you choose the motor, esc, servo etc. You may want to look at the new venom crawler. I have heard that it is pretty nice for a reasonable price.
