Checking in from Santa Cruz

Postby Loppy » Thu May 08, 2008 4:39 pm

Our room is one story up, and about 60 feet from the beach. I can also throw a rock and hit the pier, with a slingshot, the boardwalk.

I'd post some pics, but this website sucks. :finger: :D

You really know how to make a snowbound guy jealous, Loppy.

In case you run out of restaurant choices (unlikely) maybe head down the coast to Moss Landing and visit Phil's Fish Market. Best Cioppino on this planet, along with plenty of fresh raw oysters. Used to go there in person when I lived just over the hill from you, now we order and he ships his stuff here. :D

Or if you get bored and there is a nice breeze coming in off the water, head a bit farther to Marina Beach. They do things with hang gliders that just isn't right. My buddy Flyin Boy (from my videos) practically owns the air there, so if there is only one guy up, it's probably him. If George is around, he might even be able to take you up tandem. 8)

Stumbled on to Phil's about 8 years ago. We go at least 2x a year. Introduced some friends to it and they now do day trips to Phil's.

Man this is awesome! I just made a fat BLT with some fresh coffe and the sun is actually shining on us this morning. Sat and ate out on the deck listening to the sea lions barking up a storm and watching the beach bums scrounge up a breakfast beer. LOL

Thats the only bummer if there is one. Lots of bums wandering around the beach area here.

I've heard of Phils before and always wanted to try it. Thanks for the reminder! May just head down there. I'm well aware of the glider spot too. I used to teach SCUBA and spet a lot of time in Monterey for open water dives. During my short times off, I'd head up there and just sit on the bluff and watch those guys for hours. Great stuff.

I'll try and send Hower a pic, maybe he'll post up. Our room is amazing. I can practically smell seal breath. (oops, maybe it's mine... )

Off to the Mystery Spot in a few. Late!!!

Sounds very nice
