Sad day for some area Fire Fighters

The OHV area where they died is a popular spot that has had some developer driven opposition lately. Hopefully this won't be the last nail in the area's coffin.

What a shame. That is one thing I was always concerned with regarding the side by sides... can you get out? Theres something to be said about quads and the ability to bail if you have to.

Only the good die young.

I was wondering the same thing, Loppy. I don't know, but I thought the RZRs used a 4-point or 5-point harness like we use in sailplanes(?). The flight instructors teach us how to jettison the canopy, release harness and bail out... but no one mentions what to do if the airplane is already spinning or tumbling. Gotta be a lot harder to get out of Mr. RZR or Mr. Airplane if that happens. :(

Wow... That was some hill.

the vehicle toppled backward, tumbling between 1,500 and 2,000 feet down the hill.
