American Marine here in Rancho. Talk to Sean. He will let you take off down the steet no problem. Back when I bought my 650, he and I raced head to head down the street, he was on the 800 just to prove how fast the 650 was. it was a riot.


If you're seriously considering the Outty 650... yout cant even put that ride in the same catagory as the Sp500 or KQ450. The Rotax 650 puts out more power than all the others, by far. Except for the Outty 800, which is just insane power.

I cant say enough good about the Outty 650. Has all the power and more of the others, less weight and has a very sporty feel to it. Like someone already said, they're all good rides. The outlander just pushes my buttons. If you like perma-grin, it's the one for you.

Say Loppy, how does it handle uphill while backing?

i have been to 5 shops in my area and they still telling me that i can not ride to bad for those shops i am a mystery shopper but i think i have done enough reserch and i rode my buddys kingquad i had plenty of power and a good low range so think i have maid up my mind but

still open to suggestions nothing is ever written in stone till it is done

I'm telling you. The doods at American in Rancho will let you rip down the street on a brand new Can Am. It's worth the short drive alone, do it.

Locker? I assume you mean the diff lockers right? (not clowing, you may be British who call storage "lockers" from time to time).

Can Am uses what they call "Visco Lock" and honestly, I'm really not sure how it works. I do know in 2007 models, folks complained about them kicking in late so they improved them on the 2008 models. I was told by American that it used to take 4 revolutions of the axle for them to kick in and now it's 1. FWIW.

Honda - No Locker

Polaris - Electrical full locker (like air locker, only electrically driven). Turns on Instant rear tires turn 25% more than front (So 1/4 of a turn)

Suzuki - Hand locker lever

Yahama (I think is the same, hand lever)

For the Grizzly 700, the front differential has an electric locker you engage via a push button up on the handlebar. The amazing thing is that with this engaged, and with the power steering (now an option on the 2008's)... it feels like you are riding a normal no-power-steering quad in 4WD without the locker engaged.

For the smaller Grizzlies, I'm pretty sure you can't get power steering on them, not sure about the locker.

For my Grizzly 660 and 450, it's electric but you have to stop first. Unlike the models with power steering, it can be pretty sporty when in diff lock churning up a hill! Yee haw, ride 'em Grizzly!!

i can take time off is no big deal

i am in woodland about 15 miles north of sacramento

we have a 250 ozark that is my wifes right now but soon to be my step sons but i would love to try somthing before i buy it
