I`m back riding!
Well went on my first ride since my crash in Nov.... and I popped a tire ~8 miles from the truck. Luckily it was a rear and it was not on the Rubicon but a 'trail'.
I put a hole in the sidewall about the size of your thumb (no idea how I`m thinking downed tree in a snow drift).
I road out on it for approx 8 miles, and I was able to maintain steady speed of 20-35mph, and it actually road VERY WELL. No problems keeping it on the rim whatsoever of coarse tire roll.
Anyway, does anyone have any tires that I can buy? It's from a 2006 Sportsman 800.
Also - what tires have the BEST sidewall? This is the second failure of these tires in the last two trips for me (friend other failure).

Hey Todd, I have a full set of 25's and 26's - the originals off of my 2 cats - radials - let me know.
pretty low miles on them as I put the mudlites on them after the first few rides.

I still think BigHorns are the best. I don't think anyone here has had a sidewall hole...and very few flats.
I saw your name....I thought...WTF..i thought he was jetski boy now.

LOL! Nah, I was just selling the quad (atleast trying to) before because I never used it and figure I'd use the jeep/buggy more. I wasn't going to take a large hit so I jut kept it, and got injured in Nov (not sure if I posted?) and have had back and neck issues since then almost healed now.Ken wrote:I still think BigHorns are the best. IMHO not worth it.regor wrote:plug it, give it a try you might be surprised......
I was lucky I was on a 'trail' not the rubicon or other rocky trail or I would have ruined the rim and had to have been towed out.
I like to drive w/out worry and a plug is just another hole waiting to happen
I`ll get back to you on those used ones d2photo.

Good thing Ken doesn't feel that way... he'd be buying a new quad after EVERY ride... right honey!!ToddW wrote:To each his ownregor wrote:i have tires that have plugs in them, and i've seen tires run with hundreds if not thousands of miles on them. I've never seen a plug fail. If it does you throw another one in.....
I'd rather not start with a piece of equipment not at 100%.
I'm sure Kendo would agree with me wholeheartedly!!!!

I have a plug in my old 589's on my old yellow quad. Plug installed 2004, zero air loss.
