How to resolve the clatter

Option 1: In a couple thousand miles it would have a knock anyway (mine does), drive it till it blows.

Option 2: Apparently you have tools, you could always try again and pull out the motor, then take it to a shop for repair, or rebuild it yourself.

Option 3: Apparently you shouldn't use those tools, sell them and give the proceeds to a mechanic to help cover the cost of repair.

Option 4: Keep the tools and check eBay for a motor, I see totaled machines on there and guys parting them out.
