Stop Signals (Video)

Postby GrizzlyGuy » Fri Feb 08, 2008 7:36 pm

A silly video shot on the same day as Sierra Snow. Could be a future Collett Communicator TV ad. You know, to show what happens to the two idiots who don't have them?

That's pretty funny GG. Lots of hand waving. I thought you were going to get off and take a leak also before you took off. When I ride with a buddy, separated because of dust, usually the one in front, occasionally slows down, after a turn, and waits for the second ATV to appear, then moves on again. The first time I ran it, my sound was way down and without the sound that hand waving is really funny.
Still impressed with the editing, and how well you fit scenes together between the cameras.

Glad ya'll liked it. :)

A shock collar for Flyin Boy sure would have been nice because I was there farting around for a lot longer than the edited video shows. I may even have taken a leak off camera.

We left for Utah the next day, and boy did I look silly waving my arm around from horizon to horizon to signal STOP out there.

Grizzly Guy , your buddy sure is a Hoot

have you ever thought of a Air horn ?? now that would be fun

yea wally world has those and loud they are
that could make for a funny responce back from your buddy once he heard one of those go off

funny how after you stopped he never looked back to see you again for a bit ,,
I know for me that once im on my way if im the leader
i tend not to look back ,, Vulcan & Hubby knows from experience & worse for them if im the tail ender i just sometimes disapear to explore...
Hubby has sence learned to look at the ground for tire tracks

best is just turn off the quad & listen

of course i will return and usually get THAT LOOK !!!

Great silly Video GG  we 3 had a great laugh funny stuff

Dang KaTz, sounds like the only safe place to put you on a ride is in the middle. If you're out front, you outrun everyone, and if in the back, you run away from everyone. Yup, sounds just like a cat (er, Kat) to me.

We didn't think of an air horn, but Flyin Boy came up with a bright idea as we were passing through Eureka, NV the next day. He yelled stop when he spotted the variety store. When he scurried back out of the store, he had a hand mirror (as in the kind people have in bathrooms) and a roll of duct tape. On the way to Delta, he taped the mirror to one of my spare cam mounts.

Here is the result (see mirror on right-front):

Image

I was proud of him, a real redneck rig-up. Of course like most redneck rig-ups... it didn't work too well. The mirror would vibrate a lot and he couldn't really see me because it was too low. Then when the sun got behind him, it almost blinded him just as he was riding along an edge like the one in the picture (on Paiute Secret Trail).

Truth be told GG My voice echo's If im trying to get your attention
you'll no doubt hear me

as for putting me in the middle well that's cool as long as i dont get sidetracked this is the main reason we ride alone others have a plan we tend to plan for fun & ride all day so much to discover

hey i think that is awesome what Flying Boy did at least he tried what he thought may work i bet youd love that air horn GG you can bet he will hear that as well as any critters

hand signal's never seem to work for us usually the leader will stop & wait it could be a while especially if a critter has caught my eye if that happens they back track they know what im up to for i have the camera's im the critter girl 8)

How long have you and Flyin Boy been married GG??

I swear I have had that same conversation with my wife and hand signals on the boat. Usually it winds up in a screaming match though, and then I pay for it by being thrashed on the end of the rope. Probably one of the reasons we no longer have a boat.

Remind me to make Flyin Boy ride in the middle if we ever ride together in Nevada. 5 minutes can get you a loooonnnnggg way away out there.

The absolute BEST place...to sit and watch a divorce happen...

Is the boat dock.

Wives. Don't get me started. Has yours ever missed a hand signal and crashed right into YOU? Mine has:
