Fishaholic,me ,my daughter plus her freind went up south side Peavine from 7th stree OHV area over top and went all the way to Verdi peak turn-off on Hennes pass road. Great snow, sun,56 degrees. Got stuck once, played with fsh's winch to get out. I luv riding in the snow. Kinda sloppy on the way back though.
P.S. where orange the hunters are out.

It sure sounds like it was an awesome ride, HellCat! I tried to do basically the same ride in reverse a few months back while trying in vain to track down Kendo and gang. I kept running into signs like this on the approaches to Peavine:

What was your route from Henness Pass road up to the top? I was riding along this way (I think), hung a left toward the towers up on Peavine, and that is when my trouble began:

I don't remember ever seeing that sign on my route. We come from top on 641 down the west side run into 124. follow to 10 wich runs into DVR (02). People ride this route all the time. Luv to show the way anytime. Hey Dave did you see this sign anywhere during the ride sunday? Let me know when you want to run this trail and I can scout it Grizz.

No worries, I probably just zigged when I should have zagged. I saw a side trail that looked like the most direct route to the top and I think taking it was my mistake. Chadd reported that folks in that area actually do shoot, so next time I'll stay on the main routes. I don't have a Kevlar vest. :(

LOL! I'm thinking I'll get the big NO, Lori. She got me the SPOT so now she'll know where to recover my body from if/when they plug me. I hear bodies help when you want to collect the life insurance.

Sounds good, Hellcat. You know the right way to go and I know the wrong way, so we've pretty much got it covered. :)

Maybe I'll bring my carbine just in case. If that's not enough, I might be able to talk these guys into providing a little air cover:

And no, I didn't mean to be a smart ass with my hand placement in that photo, it just worked out that way.

I always pack my my pistol. Ride up there all the time, no gunshot wounds yet.
Nice pic, at least your right hand is not in your pants.
