I need a new bumper....

Postby zkeys » Sun Dec 02, 2007 3:51 pm

Went down to Kentucky and did some riding this weekend. I was climbing a steep hill that was covered with leaves. I did not see a small stump that grabbed my front tire and directed me right into a large tree. I was not really going that fast and did not even fall off, or slam into the handlebars. But unfortunately, it folded my front bumper like a cheap lawn chair. Bent it so bad that now my tire rubs underneath my front headlight when the suspension compresses. The positive, I have been looking for an excuse to buy one of those Warn front bumpers with the lights on it. So now I have one. Here are a few pics to show the damage.

We were on some private land near Flemingsburg. Just about 30 miles south of Ripley OH/Maysville KY.

Well, the sad part is that I really really did not hit that hard. I am not just saying that to sound manly or anything. I guess I am glad that the bumper took the brunt of the force, but I am now thinking that I might have bent the frame a little bit. The more I look at it, it is pretty fawked up. If should happen to hit something a little harder it is a sure thing that my radiator, frame, and steering is more than likely toast.

Thanks man. Yeah, my buddy rode right past me on his sportsman 500. I think he muttered "are you ok?" or something like that. He must have already known the answer, because he did not stop to help. :?
Must be a Polaris thing... :D
