Boca Springs

Postby Kendo » Thu Oct 25, 2007 6:51 pm

Went for a ride with Carrie and Loren (Lander here) up to Boca Springs and Verdi Peak last weekend. Great place to ride and camp!! Weather was great, a tad chilly, but no dust and no precipitation to speak of.

I've got a couple of "Grizzly Guy" style amatuer videos as well. I'll get 'em on YouTube in the next couple of days.

As promised - You Tube video of the trail from Verdi Peak. My first attempt at the awesome "Grizzly Guy" style.

Thanks for the compliment Kendo, but if you saw this one then you know I'm going downhill fast in terms of video style. It might have to do with the drinking.

Yeah, that top section of Verdi Peak Road is sort of rough in an annoying kind of way. Hard to keep the cams from bouncing. Did you guys take the short side trail down to Verdi Spring? Here's the sign on Verdi Peak Road:

Image

It will separate the 2WD quads from the 4WD ones as climbing back up it isn't slam-dunk easy, especially when slick.

Next time you're out that way and want to extend your ride, there is an easy 3 lookout loop you can do. This lets you bag Verdi Peak, Sardine Peak and Babbitt Peak all in one easy and not-so-long (about 70 miles) ride. There is a short 2-track trail that winds around/under Babbitt Peak on the east side for extra fun points. Plus the where-is-the-trail trail heading to the west that I talk about in that post. :)
