Rollin' the Can-Am

Postby Lander » Wed Oct 10, 2007 5:19 pm

Hey Loppy, you sure broke-in your new Can-Am in fast by rolling it! You are so lucky that you didn't get hurt and the Can-Am faired well too. Your write-up of the incident convinced me that I need to go back to my fullface helmet. Something that has been on my mind for awhile. Enjoy that new quad!

Fish - LOL. No kidding

Carrie - I am not and will never give anyone chit for open face or whatever way you wish to exercise your rights and I dont mean to sound like a preacher. I just feel the urge to get the word out and let you all decide for yoursleves. I know myself, and the guys I was with, will never look at it the same again. If you go back to full, good for you! Think of it as cheap dental and facial bone reconstruction surgery insurance. :D

Ken - Its amazing. Snappy, fast and pissed off. I beat on hit pretty hard (other than the roll) and it never even hickuped. Even with the crappy stock Carlisle tires it could not be stopped, even in the snow. I am really impressed.

Teeth are overrated. In the neighborhood I work in I think they're optional

Thanks Loppy, you just sold me. A full face helmet is going on my X-mas list.

I learned to hate those flippin' things in hang gliding competitions because they blocked downward visibility. In a thermal with 40-some gliders scrambling for the best core, I couldn't clearly see the guy or gal climbing up from under me. If not see, then mid-air collision, and we're both tossing chutes and praying for a successful outcome.

So I tossed my full-face helmet over a cliff one day and swore I'd never wear one again. But this sport ain't hang gliding, and although I have generally crappy teeth, I'm kind of fond of them. :)

OK Santa, do your stuff.

So does anyone want to bid on a slightly used Shoei open face helmet for delivery mid-January or so?

Eric I had a similar thought, I was riding trials and there was no way I could see around a full face. Big difference dropping a 150 lb bike and a 650-850 lb quad on your head
