Does my quad have a jet kit in it? Have you done anything to that?

I want to get ready for snow and think the stage 1 dyno jet kit is in order, but I dont want to buy it if it's already got it.

Thanks mang!!!

Say it isn't so.......you bought a used quad from Hower and you're worried about jetting? That's the least of your problems

You have just the stock quad carb.

He threw in a night with Lori, I couldn't resist.

Yeah, I know... So far I've only lost one bolt off an A arm. Not bad. It's going under the knife soon for all new bushings and I have a Costco sized tube of Locktite as well. Already found several small cracks which will also get taken care of.

I'll dial it in, and it'll be happier than ever.

You sure? It kinda looks like a Holly 650 dual feed to me. \:D/

I'm quite sure it's the stock carb, just wanted to know if the jets had been tickled or not...

LOL...

I hardly EVER rode that quad...you can all relax. I think I rode it twice...

That one does NOT have the dynojet kit.....I recommend it.

Not to be Debbie downer, but the greatest thing I ever did was take the dyno-jet kit out of my Brute. I found it very hard to get jetted correctly. Put it on right before Moab and it ran great at 75 deg. When the temp got about 90 or so I started running like poop. It was real nice on the big ledges on Metal Masher when I started sputtering and coughing.... :x . But, I think the Brutes tend to be a little bitchy anyways. My next trip west I am going to just purchase the different jets from my Kawi dealer. Down with the thinner tapered dyno jet needles!!!! :D Just my $.02.
PEACE!

Good info....My counter on the Polaris was, the Dynojet kit was awesome. So perhaps some carbs handle it better.

I used one on the Rhino and it took a little trail and error to get it right. The kit they make for the Rhino didn't have big enough jets and I ended up using Mikuni jets with the Dynojet needle. Once adjusted I've had no problems with it

It just wasn't "doing it" for me. I pretty much ran out of patience with it. Although it is a good way to get lots of jets for not much money. I would be interested in seeing if that dial-a-jet works or not. I would love to try it, just not interested in drilling holes in the carb. Anyways, back to the regularly scheduled thread...

I've been dealing with motorcycles all my life and have done a ton of stage one mods. I'm confident I'll get it dialed in, specially since its a single carb. Want a challenge? Try tweaking in four Kehin flat slides on a GSXR motor...

There will be some air box mods, and maybe some exhaust too. Stay tuned...
