Well if you want something really different you could try Pismo Beach. Depending on how far you are willing to drive there are lots of places to ride near Redding. We just rode up there last week on Fenders Ferry road and there was no snow. We went on a ride last year with D2 on Graniteville road to...

We bought 3 almost two years ago. We used two and they worked fine. Then the plastic insert was broken on one of them. We have replaced different parts from our other unused gas flat and from a used water flat. We can't seem to get it to stop leaking. :( I am not sure what the problem is, but it see...

Good spots near Pollock Pines
We got to go back up to the Pollock Pines area again. It is really nice riding up there. We parked just off North South road. We rode east up to about 5600 feet where we were blocked by too much snow. We went back and rode down Pebble Canyon road and along camp creek and circled back to north south ...

Well we made it to Pollock Pines Saturday. The weather was great but we didn't get to ride very far. There is still too much snow on the ground. We didn't make it as far as stump springs. There was only a single vehicle width of clear pavement and I didn't want to have to turn the trailer around in ...

Anyone know what the snow level is now?
I'm still wanting to go riding near Pollock Pines. Has anyone heard how the snow is melting so far. I want to wait untill enough snow melts so I can have room to ride without snow so my son won't get stuck. The web cam for Sciots Camp still shows around 3 feet. Ken

Well it looks like the snow is going to keep me home for a while. I was looking at the web cam at Sciots Tract which is around 5700 feet and it shows the snow almost up to 6 feet. http://www.sciotscamp.org/webcam.asp It seems that the webcam for Strawberry Cabin is out of order. If anyone gets curre...

Any suggestions for current conditions such as snow depth?
I am still waiting to get to ride up near Pollock Pines. On our last ride my wife's ATV started leaking oil from an axle seal. I finally got it fixed and we were going to ride last week when the snow came down low again. I know depending on the weather the snow depth at that elevation can vary a lot...

Well we made it on our first snow trip. We ended up going to the Mendocino Forest. With that last storm the snow level came down too low for me. My son rides a 125 and I was worried that he would get stuck to easily. We wanted to have some room to ride without snow in case he got stuck. At Mendocino...

That sounds about right. We don't have tons of expensive stuff we just can't afford to replace it. We have a truck tent that goes up in the bed of the truck and a Weber baby Q and propane stove and ATV water and gas flat packs. Some things are a no brainer to lock up, but it would be a pain to have ...

National Forest Camping: Do you leave your gear alone?
We are into dispersed camping in the National Forests. I go with the idea that the other people in the forest are there to have fun just like us. We would never dream of messing around in anyones camp(stealing) and I want to assume the same of the people we share the forest with. I would like to ask...

Ken I also had mine set up Lat/Lon Deg.Min.mmm, I changed it to Deg.Min.Sec and they changed slightly. try 38 42' 19N x 120 24' 15W Does that make any sense at all? Once I put them in using the correct format it did work. I also found Stump Springs so I am in the right area. Now if the weather is n...
