Re: Mt. Fillmore Ride 14 Jul 13
That's a great area! I usually ride it from the other direction, starting over at Plumas Pines near Graeagle and riding west to La Porte and points in between. Or, start and Downieville and head north into the same area. I have that Clarks Canyon/Rattlesnake Cr. trail marked as Expert Only on my map...

Re: A Bear Raided my Hummer!
No problems before, Mike. I know you're not supposed to, but I've been parking the Hummer outside for years with food in it. This bear was definitely talented. Did you see that last photo of the cookie wrapper that he carefully tucked into the dashboard gap? If there's one thing worse than a show-of...

Re: Rode out of Cisco today With New RAZ
Ahhh, gotcha, no worries. The only time I've ever been on the other side of that gate was when I backpacked into Paradise Lake via PCT. Really-really nice lake, one of the most scenic in our neck of the woods IMHO. Oh, and now that we know you have the combo to the gate... you can expect super-extra...

Nice shots! I didn't know there was a way to loop all the way around Buzzard Roost, I'll have to check that out.

Re: A Bear Raided my Hummer!
LOL, like I said in my caption for the 2nd to last photo, that's actually pretty common: "He didn't take a crap in the vehicle (often happens when bears break in) so he had no use for my roll of Charmin inside a ziploc bag up on the floor in front of the passenger seat." Had he pooped in there, I'd ...

Re: A Bear Raided my Hummer!
Yeah Angelo, I was amazed that he didn't do any actual damage! I don't think I've ever had a vacuum inside that H2 since I got it back in 2003, so he also gave me a good excuse to do a bit of interior cleaning.

A Bear Raided my Hummer!
So the other day I wake up, head outside, and notice that both doors on the driver's side of my Hummer are wide open. Uh-oh. Photos and the rest of the story are here:

More great shots as usual!
Sunday was looking to be our hottest day up here, it got up to 88 before it overdeveloped and we had a thunderstorm. The rain dropped the outside temp down to 65 degrees in a hurry. Ahhhhhh.....

Re: Out and back on Soda Springs Road
Yes that picture was taken down from where there is a yellow sign that Fish and Game posted about not having loaded guns in the wild life perserve. We turned right after that sign and the trail got very narrow so we turned around then went past the sign in the other direction and ended up on anothe...

You weren't just a wing man, you were also the Official Ride Photographer. Great shots as usual!
That trail (road?) where the deer were was fun, the spring growth made it feel like we were riding cross-country even though it is a legal route.

Dang straight, I never ride if there is even a slight chance of precipitation because the rain makes my makeup run.EigerMike wrote:and when the weather is ok for GG to get out and ride before it gets cloudy! lol

Re: Yuasa and powersports sale at Amazon
I have my Grizzlies down at Roseville Yamaha getting, among other things, new batteries. The service manager said he'd setup and charge the batteries himself because there is one step that (according to him) is critical to getting long life: when you pour in the acid, you need to leave it uncapped f...
