My best friend I ride with has one and he loves it. I have driven it a lot, and honestly it's not really my cup of tea. You are strapped in there pretty good, and wherever the machine goes, your going with it. Can't jump off like an ATV. That top to it is not really a roll bar. You also can't stand ...

yea, got that out of there and found the screw and followed the directions. Was just amazed how much larger the diameter of the stock one was to the dynojet I put in there. Used the one of 3k-6k. The stock one was even larger than the sea level one from dynojet. The package is clearly labeled 01-06 ...

Sounds a little over my head, but it's got to be better than stock up there. I'll take the EFI to Pismo if I go so I won't need to worry about it. If' you going to be there in Sept, might need some advice. My 20 year old son will have the 500, so a little lack of power won't exactly break my heart. ...

Hi Ken, Used these photos to put the jet kit on my 500. You made it very easy to follow. Seems to run better, but won't know until Meadow Lake next month. Hope you consider doing the same service for other tasks like CV boot replacement, clutchs and so on when they come up in your future. Really app...

Yea, my understanding is the road dead ends, and is used for horse trailers as the jump off point to the horse trail from there. Doubtful they would ever catch you down there, but my friend Brett says the sheriff copter comes over from time to time with a FLIR device and swoops on motorized vehicles...

I went up there once and turned around. The National Geographic map list the trail you took as forest road #13E34. At that point it turns into horse trail 13E15. That whole area north of the Fordyce jeep trail to the south sides of French Lake and Faucherie and some distance to the west is some sort...

I have a Garmin 60Cx and I love it. I don't keep tracks on a computer, but it does all that and then some. I am amazed what it will do, and the info you can track. The display can be set up in infinite varity to show what info you want. They have an upgraded antenna, and I can get a fix downstairs i...

Yea, my GPS will convert it, but I have never stored my tracks. I mainly have it to locate my exact position on the map when I have a senior moment and get confused out there. No one I ride with now has one, so there was no need to share tracks. Was just checking, I find the system very simple and e...

About 2 tenths of a mile before Baltimore Lake it becomes a horse only and goes past Beyers lakes and comes out at Blue Lake. Think you'll be in some trouble if they catch you on a ATV back there.

UTM

Know I'm new here and don't know you guys yet, so this may be a dumb question. I noticed when you refer to locations by coordinates, you use lat/long readings. Didn't know if anyone was familiar with UTM coordinates? The National Geographic and USGS maps have them on them. I find them much more help...

No, I think I would have remembered seeing that. Didn't see that tire size for them in Rocky Mountain, but I stand corrected.

I also understand there is an issue as to where the tie rod attaches to the wheel assembly that requires a larger wheel. 14 in wheels for 26 in tires only gives you 2 options that I could find, (one Goodyear and one Carlisle) Both are pretty docile tires that are made for Polaris. Need to start lobb...

Also curious as to when people got there on Friday. Didn't know if you met up in Little Truckee to go in. Got a sister with a place in Tahoe City we can spend Thursday night if you get going early Friday. Been down the paved road to Jackson Meadow Res numerous times, but don't recall a Meadow lake t...

I really like these. They bolt on with aluminum U bolts (that actually go the wrong way) but they also ride on an aluminum plug type thing. If you smash you front ones really hard, the u-bolt will fail and save your a-arm. they give you a little "crumple zone" and it save you from welding on to your...
